A Pipe coupling is used when two pipe sections need to be connected without changing the pipe direction. In many small pipe systems, it is one of the most common fittings because it saves space and gives a direct straight joint. The fitting can be used in plumbing, machine pipe work, fire lines, water supply, air lines, and repair jobs where the pipe end already has a matching thread or socket end.

The Pipe coupling can be made from carbon steel for regular work or stainless steel for cleaner or more corrosive environments. Full coupling has thread or socket depth on both sides, while half coupling is shorter and is often welded or fitted to a vessel, tank, or branch point. This product should be selected by outside size, wall thickness, thread standard, and material grade, not only by the common name, because different countries may use different pipe thread habits.

FAQ

Q: Is a full coupling longer than a half coupling?

A: Yes. Full coupling is generally longer and connects two pipe ends. Half coupling is shorter and often used on a branch point.

Q: Can one order contain black and galvanized surface?

A: Yes, but separate packing and clear marks are better for checking.
