Threaded joints in pipe are "pipe connectors with threads" that achieve the following core functions through threaded engagement:
Pipeline connection
Reliably connect two or more pipes, or change the direction of pipes (such as elbows) or branch pipes (such as tees).
Sealing medium
Prevent liquid / gas leakage through thread matching and auxiliary sealing means (such as raw tape, O-rings).
Function expansion
Integrate valves, instruments, sensors and other components (such as threaded ball valve joints, pressure gauge joints.
Classification
Cylindrical pipe threaded joints (such as G1/2 internal / external threaded joints):
• No taper, relying on raw tape, sealant and other fillers to assist sealing;
• Mostly used in low-pressure water / gas systems (such as household water supply and drainage, air conditioning condensate pipes).
Conical pipe threaded joints (such as R external threaded joints, Rc internal threaded joints):
• Taper 1:16, the cone fits and self-seals after tightening;
• Suitable for medium and high pressure scenarios (such as gas pipelines, steam pipelines, industrial fluid transmission).
American tapered pipe threaded joints (NPT internal / external threaded joints):
• Taper 1:16, American standard, commonly used in oil and gas, chemical industry;
• The sealing logic is similar to that of tapered pipe threads, but the thread profile is slightly different.

• Water supply and drainage: Threaded elbows and tees connect PPR / steel pipes to realize the layout of hot and cold water pipes;
